- Man bites dog, gets 60 days (Fairbanks Daily News-Miner)
The state court system has bitten back in the case of the man accused of biting his dog. A District Court judge sentenced John Ray Martin, 39, of Fairbanks to 60 days in jail after he pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals last week as attorneys prepared for a trial.

Boys and girls of Our Lady of Fatima Preschool and Extended Day Care recently donated several bags of dog food, cat food and a sum of money to the Bryant Animal Control & Adoption Center.

PORTSMOUTH - Neighbors knew both apartments at 389 Broad St. typically had dogs in them. That fact saved three dogs, including a pug named Stella, from possible death Sunday as the building?s interior was destroyed by fire.

- Small dog killed during attack by pit bulls Saturday (Ukiah Daily Journal)
A small brown dog was attacked and killed by another dog -- or two -- Saturday in the 1800 block of Elm Street. Cugo and Hennesy, both pit bulls, were found in the front yard of the Elm Street residence when Ukiah Police officers arrived at the scene.
