Ithaca dog-abuse defendant due in court today (Star-Gazette)
ITHACA ? Alexander H. Atkind, the 23-year-old Cornell student from the Boston area accused of beating a dog, pouring bleach on it and leaving it with diminished eyesight for life is scheduled to be in Ithaca City Court at 10:30 a.m. today.

Two Wilton veterinarians suspect they have had at least one case each of a local pet with kidney failure caused by eating tainted food, the subject of a nationwide recall. In the first case a cat died approximately two weeks ago, and a dog is currently under veterinary care.
