Not a cat in a tree, but a dog in the water. The Rochester fire department came to the rescue. It happened Tuesday afternoon after a dog got hit by a car on St. Paul Street. The Rochester Fire Department says somehow the dog ended up on some debris and was floating in the Genesee River.

A dog rescued from the Genesee River Tuesday has died. Rochester firefighters plucked the pooch from the water Tuesday afternoon. The dog had been hit by a car on Saint Paul Street, before jumping into the river.
