Coppell Animal Services has a new director, and she is operating the shelter more like a community business than a dog pound. With new initiatives, such as staff training on customer service, and a greater presence in the community, more and more abandoned animals are finding their permanent home.

Portland named most dog-friendly city in U.S. (KGW Portland)
Portland has been named the most dog-friendly city in the U.S., paws down, according to dog Fancy Magazine. The City of Roses ? and dogs ? beat 61 other nominated cities.

San Diego named among nation's most dog-friendly cities (San Diego Union-Tribune)

Neglected dog finds new home (WALB News 10)
Tifton - A badly injured cocker spaniel, dropped off at the Albany Humane Society last month, is doing better. In fact, Koko has been adopted and is up and running around again. Sadly, though, we still don't know who abused this little dog so terribly.
